Community Loan Program
City of God is partnering with the Living Community Initiative to build a community of mutuality built on shared membership in Notre Dame Federal Credit Union for both St. Leo’s parish and the Catholic Worker community in Lafayette. Our desire is a community living as the Body of Christ through practical scriptural frameworks for treating each other like (God's) family.
This partnership allows us each access to 0% interest loans backed by fellow community members, regardless of credit score. Our hope is to replace economic mechanisms that extract from and separate community with “a society where it is easier to be good.”
If you are interested in applying for the community loan program, please read through the Living Communion: Parish Guide to Redemptive Lending. This guide offers a fuller picture of our hopes, vision, and mission for the program, and will help you better understand the heart and goals behind this initiative.

3. Open a NDFCU Account
This step is only to be completed until after you meet with the loan committee. Our loan program is in partnership with NDFCU so all loans are given through their credit union. In order to receive a loan through our program it is required that you have an account with NDFCU.
It is also a good practice of mutuality and building up the city of God by banking with a credit union, especially one that is as committed to Catholic and cooperative values, such as NDFCU.
